Mike Farris: Stuff I Like
I remember the first time I heard Mike Farris sing.
We were in an upstairs conference room—just a handful of us from INO. Mike had his guitar, and he started to sing Precious Lord, Take My Hand.
We all had to pick our jaws up off the floor.
This guy has soul.
The way he sang that song, it wasn’t just a cover—it was his. The Lord was precious to him, and you could hear it in every note. He needed to sing it. It moved me to tears.
A few months later, I saw Mike perform live—full band, The Station Inn, backed by the McCrary Sisters. That night, it wasn’t just music. It was gospel. It was soul. It was a revival of sorts.
Since Salvation In Lights, Mike has released a few albums, and today (3/7/25), he just The Sound of Muscle Shoals.
Take the time to get to know Mike Farris. You’ll have a hard time stopping.
You may just stomp your feet…
You may just wave your hanky…
