Sometimes Your Calling Doesn’t Come With a Title
My friend Tracy and her husband David were never “leaders” in their church.
Tracy would sing with the worship band sometimes — but just to lend her voice.
David wasn’t the preacher, an elder, or a deacon.
But here’s the beautiful part:
They quietly ran what they called their “What If” Ministry.
Tracy explained it to me like this:
If someone at church needed a front porch repaired but didn’t have the money or know-how, David would say, “What if we got a few guys together to fix it?”
If someone heard about a neighbor who needed a ceiling fan — same thing.
One call to David or Tracy and the What If team would get it done.
No title.
No fancy recognition.
No nonprofit status for donations.
Just a blessing, fueled by elbow grease and love.
So what’s my point?
Sometimes your calling won’t come with a title.
Sometimes it won’t come with permission.
Or applause.
It comes when you see a need and say, “What if…” — and then do something about it.
So…
What’s your What If?
What’s your calling?
Are you doing it?
