Freedom isn’t just a gift. It’s a responsibility.
Today, we light fireworks. We grill meat. We let the kids stay up too late.
But underneath the noise and nostalgia, July 4th is a sobering reminder:
We’re free because others weren’t.
We’re free because others fought.
We’re free because someone stood up when it would’ve been easier to sit down.
And now—it’s our turn.
Not to coast, but to carry.
Not to consume, but to contribute.
Freedom is a call to action—a daily invitation to live with purpose, courage, and conviction.
To stand for truth, righteousness, and hope.
To remain vigilant—for the glory of God.
This country was founded on biblical principles. Let’s rally those around us to stand for them. To be thankful. To be bold. To be proud of where we live.
O say can you see, by the dawn's early light, What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming, Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight O'er the ramparts we watch'd were so gallantly streaming? And the rocket's red glare, the bomb bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there, O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
O thus be it ever when freemen shall stand Between their lov'd home and the war's desolation! Blest with vict'ry and peace may the heav'n rescued land Praise the power that hath made and preserv'd us a nation! Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto - "In God is our trust," And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
(-Francis Scott Key)
So enjoy the grilled corn. Light the sparklers. Watch the skies explode.
But come Monday?
Get back to the good work of building something that lasts.
Because liberty isn’t just for leisure.
It’s for legacy.
